Lead-in

This B1 lesson begins with a lead-in activity where students will explore different fruits. They will examine 12 pictures of various fruits and be tasked with naming them and brainstorming five additional fruits. The lead-in section of this ESL lesson also includes several questions related to fruits, encouraging students to share their ideas before diving into the main part of the lesson.

Vocabulary match, Video

The next part of this intermediate ESL lesson centers around a video about the exotic durian fruit. Before watching the video, students will match ten vocabulary words with their definitions. These words will be the focus for students as they watch the video, helping them better understand the content.

Questions, Reading

After watching the video, students will answer questions related to the content and express their opinions on what they saw. To practice the new vocabulary, they will also complete a reading exercise, filling in the blanks with words from the video.

Agree or Disagree, Speaking, Name 3

Finally, there is a speaking opportunity for the students in an “Agree or Disagree” exercise. Additionally, students will look at pictures of different fruits and describe each one, discussing their appearance, smell, and taste.
