A2 – That Annoying Friend

This A2 ESL lesson uses a video about an annoying friend who constantly talks and is only interested in himself. The animated video features humorous alien characters on a distant planet, performing everyday tasks similar to ours.

In this lesson, students will explore excuses, read short dialogues to understand their different functions, and practice six phrases from the video. They will also engage in a comprehension discussion, participate in a role-play where one student (or the teacher) acts as the annoying friend, and join a group discussion based on questions provided on a slide. Additionally, students will complete activities related to the lesson’s vocabulary and discuss a quote at the end. This lesson is adaptable for B1 level learners and is suitable for students of all ages.
