Begin with the lead-in questions on page 2. These personal questions get students talking about their clothing preferences right away. Don’t rush this part. Most students have opinions about fashion and the warm-up sets a relaxed tone.
Move through the quiz on page 4 as a quick assessment of basic clothing words. Then tackle the vocabulary match on page 5 with items like blazer, cardigan, and jumpsuit. After matching, do the fill-in-the-blank practice on page 6 to reinforce the new terms. Next, cover fabrics and patterns on pages 7-8. Show the pictures and have students repeat the words. Watch for confusion between “checked” and “striped” because students mix these up constantly.
Pages 9-10 are your speaking practice. Students describe the outfits in the pictures using the fabric and pattern vocabulary they just learned. Then they describe what they’re wearing right now. Listen for pronunciation mistakes but don’t interrupt too much if they’re on a roll.
The agree/disagree activity on page 11 works well in pairs. Students pick 3-4 statements and discuss whether they agree. You’ll hear them using clothing vocabulary in actual opinions instead of just repeating definitions. Finish with the ASOS shopping task on page 12. Students browse the website, pick an outfit for their assigned occasion, and present it to the class. Give them the full 3 minutes to browse because they get really into this part.
