“Vibe Coding” Word of the Year

In this class, students will learn about “vibe coding,” Collins Dictionary’s 2025 Word of the Year. They will explore how artificial intelligence allows people to create apps using natural language instead of complex code. Students will discuss how this new method shows a major shift in technology, making programming more accessible and connected to human creativity. They will also learn about other new tech-related words that reflect how language and culture are evolving. As a final task, students will complete the Tech Timeline activity, where they create and present a timeline showing key innovations from the past 20 years and predictions for the future.
