Start with the lead-in questions about today’s weather. Students describe if it’s warm, cold, or rainy where they are. Ask who checks the weather forecast and why. The “Two Truths and a Lie” activity works well in pairs. Each person says three sentences about weather they’ve experienced, and one is false. Their partner guesses which one.

The vocabulary section has two pages. Students choose the correct definition for each word. This is good for self-paced learning or you can do it together as a class. After definitions, move to the “Odd One Out” activity. Students pick which word doesn’t belong and explain why. For example, in “umbrella, sunglasses, thunder,” the word “thunder” doesn’t fit because you can’t wear it. The matching exercise combines words into weather phrases like “heavy rain” and “dark clouds.”

Now play the first audio. It’s a weather report about 1 minute long. Students take notes about yesterday morning, yesterday afternoon, this morning, now, tomorrow, and Saturday. Play it twice so they can catch details. Then they cross out weather words they hear on the cards. The second audio is a conversation between Anna and Ben about strange weather. After listening, students decide who said each sentence. Was it Anna or Ben?

The practice section matches clothes to weather. Students decide when you wear sunglasses, boots, or a scarf. Then they make funny sentences like “It’s snowy. I’m wearing shorts!” This gets them laughing and using the vocabulary. Finish with “Would You Rather” questions. Students choose between two weather situations and explain why. The writing homework asks them to keep a weather diary for three days using lesson vocabulary.
