Lead-in
The lesson on revenge bedtime procrastination begins with a discussion about staying up late, activities that keep people awake at night, and different sleep patterns. Students will also be introduced to the term revenge bedtime procrastination and share their own experiences with it.
Vocabulary match, Vocabulary practice
The next section is Vocabulary Match, where students will match 10 words with their definitions. After that, they will complete a Vocabulary Practice exercise by filling in the blanks with the missing words.
Video, True or false, Speaking
The lesson is based on the video “What Is Revenge Bedtime Procrastination and How Can You Stop It?” (3 minutes and 25 seconds long). The video will be split into two parts. In Part 1, students will watch and complete a True or False activity focusing on comprehension. After that, in Part 2 of the video, students will focus on the main idea and then move on to complete a speaking activity. They will identify why people experience (RBP) by checking the reasons mentioned in the video and explaining each one.
Comments, Discussion
This lesson also includes several comments taken from the YouTube video. Students will read these comments, share their thoughts, and then move on to the discussion section. In this part, they will talk about whether they are a night owl or an early bird, discuss work-life balance, and explore how revenge bedtime procrastination connects to this concept. Finally, they will share advice for someone who struggles with RBP.
Chronotype test, Discussion
And finally, there is a Chronotype Test. One of the vocabulary words introduced in class is chronotype, and students will have the opportunity to learn more about their own by taking a three-minute test from a provided website link. After identifying their chronotype, they will move on to the discussion slide, where they will talk about their chronotype, personal habits, preferences, and routines. This allows them to apply what they’ve learned in class while having a fun and engaging conversation with their peers.
