B2 – How to Watch TV Shows Without Subtitles

This B2 ESL lesson is designed to be extremely beneficial for your upper-intermediate students who have a good grasp of English but are looking to make further progress, especially in their listening skills and understanding of authentic materials like movies and TV shows without subtitles. The lesson begins with a simple lead-in quiz, providing a great opportunity for discussion. It includes reading paragraphs with follow-up questions, key vocabulary, and practice exercises.

The lesson features multiple video clips, each accompanied by different assignments to challenge your students and make the class enjoyable. Additionally, there’s an optional 10-minute video that delves into the technical reasons why we rely on subtitles more than before, which we recommend assigning as a homework task.
